Help us fill our shelves with new books
Make a monetary donation to the library in Memory or in Honor of your loved ones. A gift to the Oak Harbor Public Library is a meaningful way to honor a loved one which benefits the whole community. Whether given as a memorial, a recognition of a happy occasion, or an expression of honor and esteem, a gift to the library is a satisfying way to remember someone special. A name plate will be placed in a newly purchased book. Your generosity will help us to buy more new materials for you to enjoy.
Adopt-a-Magazine Program
The Oak Harbor Public Library invites you to share your love of reading and support your local library by adopting a magazine. Necessary budget cuts have forced us to discontinue many of our magazine subscriptions. Without financial assistance from library users, businesses, and organizations, we will be unable to renew subscriptions to many of the magazines you have come to expect to find at the library. Making a full or partial subscription donation helps maintain the collection of reading material and benefits all patrons of the library. Adoptions can also be made in memory of loved ones or as a gift honoring someone special. Your sponsorship will be acknowledged with a bookplate on the front cover of the publication. Donors may remain anonymous if they wish. Simply stop by the library and select a magazine title to adopt. Thank you for your support.
Be a friend of the library
The Friends of the Oak Harbor Library is a volunteer, non-profit organization of patrons who believe that a dynamic library is a crucial factor in our community's vitality. Through volunteer efforts, membership dues, book sales, and other fund raising activities, the friends support the Summer Reading Club and sponsor programs and services that otherwise might not be available at the library. You are invited to join the Friends of the Library.
Donor Tree Leaves Available
Brass leaves for a donor tree are available from the Friends of the Library. Leaves can be sponsored for a donation of $100 each, and proceeds will benefit the library. The donor tree is mounted on a wall of the beautiful reading room in the lower level of the library. Donors will have their designated names engraved on brass leaves which become a permanent part of the tree. You can honor, reward, commemorate, or memorialize someone special by sponsoring a brass leaf. Many thanks go to the Rotary Club of Oak Harbor for providing the seed money for this fundraiser.
