Job & Career Acceleratora comprehensive online job search system, is now available to help overwhelmed job seekers find employment. This innovative online resource provides job seekers everything they need to find their next job, all in one easy-to-use application. The Job & Career Accelerator™ is paid for through a federal Institute of Museum and Library Services LSTA grant awarded by the State Library of Ohio. The online program is a new feature in LearningExpress Library and is available to all Ohioans at no charge. Job & Career Accelerator™ can be accessed with a library card at the Oak Harbor Public Library or from any internet-enabled computer. 

LearningExpress Job & Career Accelerator™ provides personalized, step-by-step assistance for job seekers at all experience and education levels—from exploring and matching suitable occupations from over 1,000 detailed occupation profiles to finding available jobs in their area from a database of over 5 million up-to-date job postings. With Job & Career Accelerator, users can easily create professional resumes and cover letters, master interviewing and networking techniques, improve work related skills, and prepare for occupation related exams. In addition, it helps job seekers plan, tailor, and track multiple job searches at the same time while providing expert advice and tips every step. The end result is the most efficient and effective job search possible.

About The Library

Mission Statement

The mission of the Oak Harbor Public Library is to serve as a center for information retrieval, cultural and intellectual pursuits, self-education, and recreational reading by providing a facility, services, and materials which meet the needs of the community.

Our Library

The Oak Harbor Public Library, established in 1908 by the Oak Harbor Literary and Social Club, is a municipal library serving the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District. The library operates under a board of trustees; six members who are appointed to four year terms by the mayor of Oak Harbor.  Regular meetings of the board are held the third Tuesday of each month.  Major funding of the library is provided by the Public Library Fund, which distributes 2.22% of the state's general revenue fund to Ohio's public libraries.
