Teachers in the Oak Harbor Public Library's service area are eligible to request books on a certain topic or a list of titles, for an extended loan period. Here's how it works:
Lists of Titles:
Given five working days advance notice, library staff will pull up to 15 books for teachers who provide a list of specific titles. If interlibrary loan is required for any of the titles, an additional week or more may be necessary to acquire all the titles.
Subjects:
Given five working days advance notice, library staff will pull up to 15 books on a specific topic. With advance notice of ten working days, library staff will check other area libraries for interlibrary loan possibilities. The number of items available may be limited in times of peak demand.
Requesting a Collection:
Requests for a specific topic may be placed by phone at 419-898-700, in person, by mail to: Oak Harbor Public Library, 147 West Main Street, Oak Harbor, OH 43449, or by fax to : 419-898-0747. Teacher's Collection are held for two working after the teacher has been notified to pick up the collection.
Loan Period
Teacher's Collections circulate for 6 weeks.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Oak Harbor Public Library is to serve as a center for information retrieval, cultural and intellectual pursuits, self-education, and recreational reading by providing a facility, services, and materials which meet the needs of the community.
Our Library
The Oak Harbor Public Library, established in 1908 by the Oak Harbor Literary and Social Club, is a municipal library serving the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District. The library operates under a board of trustees; six members who are appointed to four year terms by the mayor of Oak Harbor. Regular meetings of the board are held the third Tuesday of each month. Major funding of the library is provided by the Public Library Fund, which distributes 2.22% of the state's general revenue fund to Ohio's public libraries.
